Community Transition Services
Community Transition services are available to
rural and remote resource-based municipalities that
are facing severe economic dislocation as a result
of anticipated or actual corporate decisions to
downsize, relocate or close facilities permanently.
Community Transition services provide one window
access to the provincial government. Transition
services assist community leaders, industry, the
Province and other interested parties to develop and
implement a co-ordinated response to industry
downsizing or closure.
The goal of transition services is to assist a
community to establish financial viability, and in
turn, socio-economic resilience. Transition services
are driven by the expressed needs of the community,
and the processes are led or co-led by community
representatives.
How to request assistance?
