Regulations in relation to Municipal Service and Regulatory Powers

These regulations relate to the exercise of municipal powers conferred under Part 2 – Municipal Purposes and Powers of the Community Charter.
 

In particular, the following regulations provide details required for the operation of concurrent regulatory authority under section 9 of the Community Charter.

• The Responsible Minister Regulation (B.C. Reg. 330/2003) designates the Minister responsible for each of the five spheres of concurrent authority. The appointed Minister has primary responsibility for the matters covered in the respective sphere of concurrent authority. This regulation is authorized by section 282 of the Community Charter.
   
• The Definition of “Wildlife” Regulation (B.C. Reg. 427/2003) provides the definition of “wildlife” for the purposes of the “animals in relation to wildlife” sphere of concurrent authority. Under the regulation, “wildlife” is assigned the same meaning as in the Wildlife Act. This regulation is authorized by section 282 of the Community Charter.
