Minister Ida Chong briefs Vancouver media on her upcoming November 2007 trip to China

MINISTER CHONG TO VISIT CHINA TO PROMOTE TWINNING OPPORTUNITIES
VANCOUVER - Nov. 14, 2007  - B.C.'s Minister of Community Services Ida Chong will be in China Nov. 17-27 to promote twinning opportunities between local governments in China and local governments in British Columbia. She met with Vancouver media to brief them on her trip.

Twinning is a key element of the government’s Asia Pacific Initiative to reduce costs and increase trade between North America and the Asia Pacific region.

The Community Services ministry recently released a Twinning Toolkit to support local governments in building “sister city” relationships.
