CONSTRUCTION BEGINS FOR UBCM'S MUNICIPAL HOUSE
VICTORIA - April 11, 2008 - Union of BC Municipalities' President Susan Gimse (left) and Community Services Minister Ida Chong push the button to start the cement pouring at the site of construction of UBCM's new headquarters here. See related photo.

The Province provided the site at 525 Government St. The exterior design (top) will have a residential character reflecting some of the features of neighbouring buildings.
