The BC Seniors' Guide has just been updated and posted on the web.

It is available in HTML format in English and as a downloadable PDF in English, Chinese, Punjabi and French:

  • Translation services available in over 130 languages

The Health and Seniors Information Line is a “one stop” location to obtain information on both health and non-health related federal and provincial government programs and services for British Columbia seniors. The Line also provides general public with information about health services and the health care system.

Type of Service Offered

  • Assistance in identifying the programs or services available to the caller
  • Assist seniors in the following financial programs:
    • Housing
    • Financial
    • Health Services

  • Provide information on the health authorities:
    • Public Health (flu shots, vaccines, travel immunization)
    • Home and Community Care
    • Mental Health
    • Environment Health

  • Assist HIBC (Health Insurance BC) by issuing new replacement CareCard, address change to BC CareCard, issuing application kits to residence of BC, cancelling MSP coverage for a death in a family or direct callers to HIBC.

  • Provide interpretation of a wide variety of Health media releases, legislation, policies, programs and services.

  • Distribute publications on behalf of program areas or ministries:

    • BC Seniors’ Guide 4 languages, French, English, Chinese, Punjabi)
    • BC Health guides (4 languages, French, English, Chinese, Punjabi)
    • BC Healthy Eating for Seniors Guide   (English)
    • Various Pamphlets
